Garcello is an unusual FNF opponent because the mod built around him is not about conflict in the usual sense. Boyfriend and Girlfriend approach him because they want him to stop smoking. He is not hostile, he does not threaten anyone, he is just stubborn and settled in his habits. The argument that leads to a rap battle is low-stakes by FNF standards, which makes the emotional weight of where the songs go by the end of Nerves land differently than most mods manage.
FNF Hazier River: Smoke 'Em Out Struggle understands that and does not try to add drama that was not in the original. The remake respects what made the first mod work while making everything look and sound better. The night street atmosphere, the quiet between lines, the way Garcello's animations communicate his exhaustion without spelling it out: all of that carries over and is improved rather than replaced.
