FNF The Tricky Mod (also called FNF Vs Tricky) is a fan-made mod for Friday Night Funkin in which Boyfriend faces Tricky the clown in rhythm battles. Tricky comes from the Madness Combat series, where he appears as a secondary villain—a chaotic, dangerous clown. In this mod he bursts out of nowhere from the underground in Nevada to throw his lunacy and danger at you through four tunes: Improbable Outset, Madness, Hellclown, and a hidden track, Expurgation. The story and cast are guarded by the tone and characters of Madness Combat, so if you know that series, the setting will feel familiar; if not, you still get a tough, distinctive opponent and a set of songs that push the usual FNF formula.

The mod rolls out in order: Improbable Outset, Madness, Hellclown, and Expurgation. Expurgation is unlocked in Freeplay, so you can jump into it once you have access. Each track is built to feel like a step up. In Hellclown, the mod introduces black and red flaming notes: if you hit them, your health drops by roughly 20%. In Expurgation, those flaming notes gain a black halo—and touching those means instant death.
